Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the urgency of unity among Islamic nations, calling for tangible action rather than mere dialogue in addressing the Gaza conflict. Speaking as he departed for Saudi Arabia to participate in a summit on the Israel-Hamas war, Raisi asserted that Gaza requires decisive action, not just words. The Iranian leader highlighted the significance of unity among Islamic countries, deeming it a crucial factor in the current scenario.
This visit marks the first time an Iranian head of state has visited Saudi Arabia since Tehran and Riyadh reconciled in March, ending years of hostility through a deal brokered by China. The upcoming summit aims to send a robust message to warmongers in the region, with the objective of halting war crimes in Palestine, as stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, who accompanies Raisi.
Despite America’s assertion that it does not seek an escalation of the conflict and has communicated this to Iran and other nations, Raisi expressed skepticism, stating that these declarations are inconsistent with U.S. actions. He argued on Tehran airport television that the war machinery in Gaza is under America’s control, hindering a ceasefire and perpetuating the conflict. Raisi urged the world to see the true face of America in its involvement in the region.
